I'm not gonna be long because I'm feeling cruddy with a cold/sinus infection, ugghhh!!! However, I wanted to share what I've been doing this week. I finally got the buttons/buttonholes on the vest and closed it up. This is the vest that I started here:

So You Want Me to Remake Your Vest?

(read the beginning of the story here)

The vest came out great and he really loved it. Now, he wants me to make him another vest with a matching set of pants that he wants me to remake from a pair he owns....I DON"T SEW FOR MEN....at least not until now. I only made clothes for my husband and two boys.....stay tuned...until then, here's the front and back of the vest:

Next up is something that I have not done for a long while, I'm talking years...that's sew for my husband. He wanted a yellow tie for church tomorrow. so, I said, let's go to the fabric store and get the fabric, I'll make you one. You would have thought he was a kid in a candy store.

Joann's close at 8pm. we left the house at 7pm. I came home, threw the fabric in the dryer, pressed it, cut the tie out and put it together by 10pm. He was so happy!!!

Simplicity 4762

Besides sewing for the men folk, I was able to get in a top for myself before work on Thursday. It was very quick...and it was one of those fabrics that I held for years because I didn't want to make it wrong. So, I took the advice of some of my sewing pals and just did it! And, I LOVE IT!! I even made a matching infinity scarf to go with it.

Ugh, once Iocate my pictures, I'll share them. But, I used McCall's 6571.....

The top was almost perfect to me...I should have used the lighter color to topstitch...seems the threads just pop out to me....I may redo it.

This is the top that I made for myself. I actually had someone take a picture of me wearing it, but it didn't come out as expected, so I did the next best thing, took a picture of the top/infinity scarf.

You used McCall's 6517 for your top? You converted that pattern to a shirt? Thanks!

Great job on the tie, love the yellow. Speaking of "didn't want to make it wrong". I've had this nice knit for a few years. I made something that was very dissapointing, oh well. Better planning on my part. But let's see that pic of the top you made.
